A display filled with colorful, slim aluminum cans sits atop the counter. You see one labeled “Salted Caramel Ice Cream,” and pick up the vibrant white and orange can. Confusion ensues. Ice cream in a can? Brain cannot compute.

As your mind tries to process the ice cream in a can thing, the approachable Penguin (you later learn his name is Penguino), comes to life on the machine screen. He grabs one of the cans, pops it into the machine, chills out for a couple of minutes while the machine freezes and churns the treat, and then takes a satisfying bite. Nifty.

You return to the can in your hands. Shifting it back and forth, you can feel the liquid move around. Wondering how dairy is stored at room temperature, you rotate the can to look at the ingredients: “milk, cream, caramel, vanilla…” yet the can does not need refrigeration. What is this sorcery?

We hear these questions a lot, and we get it – ice cream in a can (ahem, pod), is definitely a novelty. We’re giving you the scoop on how our delicious ColdSnap products are made from pods stored at room temperature!

Q: What’s inside ColdSnap pods?

A: ColdSnap pods contain a premium liquid ingredient mix. ColdSnap ice cream is made with simple ingredients like those in traditional ice cream: real milk and cream, sugar, natural flavors, etc. ColdSnap frozen lattes, protein shakes, and smoothies are also made with high quality ingredients like real coffee, blended fruit, and nutraceuticals.

Q: What are the nutrition facts?

A: You can find ingredients and nutrition facts on our products page. ColdSnap pods are clean-label, and do not contain artificial colors or flavors.

Q: If ColdSnap pods contain real dairy and other natural ingredients, how are they stored at room temperature?

A: ColdSnap’s pods are heat-treated to make them shelf-stable. This heat-treating step is similar to pasteurization. Examples of other canned products that also contain real dairy and other natural ingredients include smoothie packs, shelf-stable milk in bags (common in many countries), and canned soup.
