From Bedtime Stories to Invention Journals: The Story of ColdSnap
When nightly bedtime stories grew dull for Matt Fonte and his two daughters, Sierra and Fiona, they decided to swap bedtime stories for a more creative past-time: invention journals. Topping the list of problems to solve: how do we a create single-serve ice cream machine that’s easy to use?
The girls considered a Keurig-style machine that could generate ice cream in about two minutes, and without the mess. Matt, a serial entrepreneur, saw potential in this idea. In late 2018, ColdSnap was formed with a singular objective: to transform the way frozen confections are produced, transported, purchased, and enjoyed!

ColdSnap is founded with a team of a few entrepreneurial engineers in Lexington, MA.
June 2020
ColdSnap moves into a 25,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Billerica, MA.
February 2021
The ColdSnap Food Science and Quality team is established by a team of degreed nutrition and food scientists and experts in the field.
December 2022
Construction to the existing building in Billerica begins, adding 19,000 square feet for food processing and pod production.
January 2023
ColdSnap’s commercial team is officially established.
April 2023
ColdSnap is continuing to grow as we enter into our commercialization phase and prepare for a national launch.
