Nature & Travel Photography Workshops

ColdSnap Photography, hosting workshops on the shores of Lake Superior and beyond. Committed to guiding you to awe-inspiring places, where you can create masterful photos.

Fall Workshops still have spots available! Check out:

The Fine Art Print

November 4-6. Does your post processing have you perplexed? Are your prints not quite what you hope or expect? This workshop will give you the basic skills for the post processing of your images. It doesn’t matter if you are using Lightroom or Photoshop both programs will be covered in-depth. Because of the small group size (maximum of 5) there is lots of one 0n one instruction, you will also be working and printing your own images–and lots of them. Everyone will leave the workshop with a stack of test images and one frame-able fine art print.

November Skies (Session 2)

November 18-20. November on the Big Lake is notorious for it’s moods. From the storms of November to the calm of the sea there is no telling what Lake Superior will look like. One thing is for sure; she will offer photographic opportunities like no other season. One of my favorite times of the year to photograph is during November–it is a transition time which means that the conditions can vary wildly from one day to the next. It is this change that offers great photographic subject matter.

ColdSnap Photography Workshops are small in size that is a maximum of 5-10 people depending upon the subject and location. These small group settings allow for one on one interaction with the instructor(s). Some of our workshops are cooperatively taught with other established professional photographers and photo educators, but we never hire out the teaching or guiding of any workshop or tour. Our belief is that creative photography is founded upon an intimate yet practical study of photographic technology, and the natural world. Our teaching philosophy is based upon the belief that learning through fieldwork is the most thorough and enjoyable process of learning. Our job is to get you to great places and create a safe, fun, and relaxed atmosphere where your creative energy can blossom.
